(20 Jul 2017) Uptick in United Rentals' business bodes well for health of the overall economy
United Rentals (URI $71-$123-$134) is the largest equipment rental company in North America, serving (primarily) industries such as construction and utilities. They lease everything from generators to giant earth-moving equipment so companies do not have to purchase the equipment. In another sign of the economy picking up steam, URI easily beat its Q2 estimates both on the top and the bottom. On revenues of $1.6 billion (+14%), the company earned $141 million (+5%) in net profits.
